Born in Toronto, Ontario in 1950, David Reeves has lived for the past 20 years in New Brunswick, Canada on the Kennebecasis River. He worked as a professional engineer for greater than 30 years, is largely self-taught as an artist, and is now devoting much of his time to his artistic interests. His work strongly reflects the maritime region in which he lives.

David was elected to both the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) in 2006. He was accepted to the 2004 and 2006 CSPWC Open Water Exhibits and received the 2004 H.K. Holbein Award for Innovative Use of Watercolour for his surrealistic painting "Surfacing". In 2009 David won 4th place in the Abstract category of the Pastel Journal's annual Pastel 100 competition for his painting "Night Descending on the Harbour". David paints in watercolour, pastel, and acrylic, and has taught workshops in Canada. His work is in corporate and private collections in Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Australia and the United States.
