Carol Ljuden (M.F.A, A.S.A, A.F.C.A., S.C.A.) is a multidisciplinary artist who lived in the United States for a number of years after graduating with her Master of Fine Arts Degree. She returned to Alberta, Canada in the year 2000. There she rediscovered her connection with painting and drawing specifically in transcribing the Alberta landscape. These works are a painters documentation of a sense of place... a sense of belonging.

Carols most recent series of paintings allow the pictoral plane to become multiple view points, windows, pixels, and juxtapositions in time and space. Conceived as a reflection of contemporary life with its quick access to data and information, and multiple simultaneous tasks, the landscape here is within common narrative structures and design elements used in graphic novels, print material and websites.
