Susan Fraser, SCA

I am currently doing a series of Algonquin Park and the Ottawa Valley. I am exploring daylight on landscapes using coloured charcoal on Velour paper.

I can sharpen them to a fine point to control the detail or scumble them across the paper in delicate layers. Erasing is impossible, but layering colors offers endless possibilities.

The vibrant colors sing across the paper perfectly conveying my love of hiking wilderness trails.

Every time I return from travelling south, I am amazed at how great it feels to be back in these dramatic landscapes of powerful rock cuts and cliffs, white water and lush forests.
