Elizabeth Malara-Wieczorek, SCA

Elizabeth Malara-Wieczorek - born in Kraków, Poland in 1964. Her affair with painting and drawing began quite early under the guidance of artists referring her to great tradition of Kraków – the artistic capital of Poland.

She obtained her Master's degree at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts in 1989, under the supervision of Professors Stanisław Rodziński and Zbylut Grzywacz.

She worked as an art teacher, graphic designer and an artistic director in an advertising agency. In Canada she worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Notably, in 2009, she has made a series of illustrations for the "Polly of Bridgewater Farm" book.

For many years she worked in plain-air and in her home studio.

In her recent work Elizabeth focused on landscape of Niagara Escarpment, from cliffs and ravines to agricultural scenery. Another significant topic of Elizabeth’s work is still life, particularly flowers. Elizabeth works with watercolor, oil and acrylic paints. She is very fond of embroidery which was her favorite technique at the academy.
