Linda Sorensen, SCA

I was born in London England and immigrated to Canada in 1955. Throughout childhood I was exceptionally gifted in art. My talent was recognized and encouraged by teacher and now world renown wildlife artist and naturalist Robert Bateman. I became a part of the back to the land movement settled in the Madawaska Valley and took a sabbatical from my art to raise my family in a self-sufficient lifestyle.

“Art in everyday living” was to become my credo for the next 25 years! I have been a professional mainly self-taught artist for over 20 years.

The inspiration for my work is the Natural World. I paint plein-air in oils in all seasons and also do large acrylic studio paintings. My award-winning paintings are represented in private collections across Canada and the globe and have been published in magazines, film and books. My studio and gallery is open by appointment year round.
