The Passing of our MOM, June 14, 2018, Graham Beach

It with a very heavy heart that we need to pass along this sad news.  Mom passed away peacefully yesterday at 4pm in the Haliburton Hospital with my Dad, Lindsay and I at her side. She fought the fight courageously right to the end after a 3 year battle.  She was quite the lady.

Shelley is a popular watercolour and acrylic instructor throughout Durham region and beyond. An honour graduate of Ontario College of Art & Design, an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and a signature member of the Toronto Watercolour Society, Shelley’s paintings hang in numerous corporate and private collections, including Veridian Corporation and the previous Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Hilary M. Weston. Represented by the Ethel Curry Gallery, Haliburton, Shelley’s work is mainly water-based but ranges from traditional watercolour to experimental mixed media and monotype.

Living
in the breathtakingly beautiful Haliburton Highlands
is the inspiration for my work.

The magic of using fluid, water-based mediums provides a
means of expressing a sense of harmony with my
environment.

Working intuitively, I discover connections
and establish an identity through
my sense of place.

Patterns and symbols emerge
to convey
my profound affinity
to these
life forces.
