Rayne Tunley, SCA

Rayne Tunley (aka: Lorayne Puley-Tunley) was elected into the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC) in 1993, and is now the President of the CSPWC.
Art has always been a part of Rayne’s life. She grew up in a family where both art and music filled her life. Ever since she was young, her passion has been to create: painting and drawing life inside, outside and from her imagination.

In 1973 Rayne attended the Banff School of Fine Art where she received a scholarship recommendation. She was accepted with a bursary and ‘Advanced Standing’ into the Ontario College of Art in 1974 and graduated in 1977 with honours. Rayne’s continuation of art studies included the “Three Schools of Art”, (later known as the “New School of Art”).

An established teacher of fine arts for more than thirty years, Rayne was a Professor in the Visual Arts/Classical Animation Program at Sheridan College in Oakville. During her involvement in animation, Rayne put her paintings into movement in a short animated films, including, “Twisted Tots”, for Bravo!FACT. (www.rayneproductions.com/gallery/filmshort.html).

Her painting workshops included Sheridan College, Sir Sandford Fleming College, Okanagan Summer School of the Arts, Rainbow Art Workshops, Madawaska Fall Workshops, Max the Mutt Animation School as well as independent sessions with many art groups. Rayne continues to teach.

Juror for Exhibitions: Toronto Watercolour Society, Etobicoke Art Group, Central Ontario Art Association, Norfolk County Art Exhibit and the Guelph Ontario Art Association. Exhibiting her work nationally and internationally, Rayne has won major national awards.
