Ming You Xu, SCA

Born (1963) and raised in Tianjin, China, Ming You Xu dedicated most of his childhood to pursue art where he studied and become experienced in various mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, pastel, sculpting, engraving - especially in oil. From his passionate dedication and perseverance in hopes of one day becoming a great artist, Xu successfully built up his reputation since coming to Canada in 2000 and he’s been selling his paintings in the Westmount Art Gallery in Toronto.

“Art is something that has always seemed both mysterious and miraculous to me - it constantly intrigues me. Ever since I visited Mongolia for the very first seeking inspiration, - the vast clear blue sky, lush green meadows and clusters of sheep and cows - it took my breath away. Before I knew it, Mongolia became the main theme for most of my paintings and there was this continuous flow of creativity which kept bringing me back every few years. Art had allowed me to capture snapshots of the Mongolian culture, its customs, and tradition as well as the essence, emotions and soul of the subjects. I definitely got more than what I originally sought for.”
