Lachine-born artist, Martha Markowsky, an elected member of the Canadian Society of Artists, was awarded in 2008 le Fils du l'Excellence by the City of Lachine for her achievements in art.  She is known for her paintings of symphonies, children in nostalgic backyards playing games, bar room scenes along with the landscapes of Charlevoix and other regions of Quebec. 

Martha has participated in numerous solo exhibitions in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta.  In addition, she was involved with symposiums in Quebec and Ontario.  The latest symposium to which she was invited was the Saguenay-Lac St. Jean Symposium, 2013, as well as Reves d'Automne, Baie St. Paul, QC. 
Martha's paintings can be found in numerous private and corporate collections, nationally and internationally.  Additional information about her career can be found on "Google" and Magazin'art 2017-2018 Biennal Guide of Canadian Artists in Galleries as well as the 2018 Edition of Who's Who in Canada.
